Okiciyapi Tipi Habitat for Humanity's mission:
to provide simple, decent, affordable housing
for the people of the
Cheyenne River Indian Reservation
During the summer months, two intern positions are available for those who would like to work closely with us bringing hope and homes to the Cheyenne River Indian Reservation. Job descriptions are shown below. Please contact Executive Director Jerry Farlee for more information.

Volunteer Coordinator:
Assist in managing volunteer groups throughout the summer as they
build/rehabilitate Habitat for Humanity homes on the Cheyenne River
Sioux Indian Reservation
Expectations of Intern:
•Openness to cultural differences
•Work with local Native American people on housing needs
•Knowledge of fundraising/program development
•Work with volunteers from various organizations throughout the
summer
Required Skills:
•Exceptional organization skills
•Good people skills
•Basic office skills
Benefits of Participating in OT HFH
Internship:
•Actively participate in Native American Indian Reservation life
•Gain insight into the Governmental system, the history, and the
traditional spiritualism of the Cheyenne River Sioux tribe
•Work with an internationally recognized non-profit organization
(Habitat for Humanity International)
•Gain knowledge of housing needs, opportunities to assist potential
homeowners, and funding techniques to acquire these homes
•Work with volunteers from around the world
•Earn college credit
Duration of OT HFH Internship:
•May through August

Office Assistant:
Perform daily routine office duties, help with fundraising ideas/programs and work with local homeowners through the OT Habitat for Humanity office on the Cheyenne River Sioux Indian Reservation
