Okiciyapi Tipi Habitat for Humanity
is an affiliate of
Habitat for Humanity
International.
Habitat has built more than 300,000 houses around the world, providing more than 1.5 million people in more than 3,000 communities with safe, decent, affordable shelter. HFHI was founded in 1976 by Millard Fuller along with his wife, Linda.
Okiciyapi Tipi Habitat for Humanity began in 1994 when Ex-President Jimmy Carter, his wife Rosalynn and 1200 volunteers came to Eagle Butte to build thirty homes in partnership with the Native American population.

Over
180 families
are waiting for a Habitat home on the
Cheyenne River Sioux Reservation!
In the last year, we have built 3 new homes and accomplished 31 home renovations for the elderly, handicapped and those with very low incomes. These homes have been rehabbed with new roofs, bathrooms, handicap ramps, gutters, windows and floors.
Individuals and groups are invited to explore volunteer opportunities! We can offer a life-altering experience in partnership with the people of the Cheyenne River Indian Reservation. Decent shelter is a matter of conscience and action! Explore our community, which boasts a rich historical and cultural heritage.
Contributions are always welcome, whether you can give financial assistance, provide needed materials, donate a car, or choose another way to give a gift that changes lives, families and communities.
